“The photograph is an unfinished sentence, a trace, the fragment of a story. Sometimes the author himself does not know it, as is the case with found pictures. Parapet (2004) was inspired by a photo from an album bought for five zlotys from a street vendor in Warsaw’s Muranów district, the area chosen by Nazis for the ghetto during the WWII. That is all we know and we shall never learn anything more.”
